Arcachon Bay, Dune du Pilat & Saint-Émilion
A trip to the Bay is a must. Here are our favourite spots:
A very charming, traditional oyster-farming village. The Hôtel de la Plage has just reopened after renovations while keeping its original spirit.
You can enjoy fresh oysters at Chez Guillaume. Note: these local "cabanes" serve fresh seafood and cold plates only (no hot meals), but the view is fantastic and highly recommended.
Perfect for a day of cycling. The best way to get there is to drive to Arcachon and take the shuttle boat (runs every 30 mins in season) across the water.
A beautiful beach and a very nice restaurant (also called Plage Pereire). Booking is mandatory — reserve as early as possible!
The highest sand dune in Europe. An unmissable experience.
Visit the Dune in the morning, have lunch at Plage Pereire, and enjoy the beach in the afternoon.
A historic village surrounded by famous vineyards — Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, Pomerol, and Fronsac. It is very touristy but definitely worth the visit.
Our go-to restaurant in Saint-Émilion. We always go there and are never disappointed. A reliable, excellent choice.
